I've been meaning to write more in this thing and I just haven't had the time until now. I feel like I've got more stuff to get down now that I'm retired than I ever did while working. Whoever said retirement is a time to be lazy and relax was a dirty liar.
Maurice decided that we needed to do an activity together, take a class or something like that. I don't know why since we spend most of the day together anyway. After spending an afternoon arguing between pottery, going to bingo together, and a cooking class. Well, I already know how to cook and I am still not old enough to play bingo regularly and Maurice said that we'd just end up with a bunch of lopsided pots we didn't need if we did that one. Eventually we settled on ballroom dancing, although I still wasn't completely happy with the pick. I've never been light on my feet and I'm sure this class will end with me giving broken toes to my husband.
But at least it's not bingo. This is the second time we've made a big deal about doing something like this. About ten years ago, when I was still working, I decided to learn how to garden so we could do it together. It didn't work very well and we learned that I have a very black thumb. Maury has such a beautiful garden and I ended up killing a couple of plants. Since then I've learned to stay out of the garden just like he knows to stay out of my kitchen. If he knows what's good for him.
